Welcome to the Australian Art Music playlist! A monthly playlist of classical, jazz, experimental and electronic music focused on contemporary Australian composers, musicians and sound artists.
Musicians need support to keep creating the music you love. So, moving forward I’ll be hosting the playlist on Bandcamp and BuyMusic.Club where you can listen to and buy digital or physical copies of your favourites each month. It’s been a fun rabbit hole to get lost down, find new artists, and rediscover old releases I really enjoyed. I’ve taken a broad approach to looping, including some minimalist pieces – repeating and evolving short motives, as well as some sequencer driven pieces creating beautiful layering to build texture. Some really impressive work from all over the country here, showcasing how loop stations can be used to create incredibly different final works. I hope you enjoy getting lost in it all as well.
