Cameron Lam started the Australian Art Music Playlist (AAMP) during his time as Art Music Specialist at APRA AMCOS. What began as a way for Lam to get a more comprehensive lay of the art music landscape reached its five-year mark in March 2024 and today forms an “enormous” archive of 1,713 tracks (and counting).

“I reasoned if I was going to be making decisions on behalf of these musicians, I should know all their music, not just the people I already knew,” Lam says. “The public playlists were my way of sharing that breadth of listening and the joy and wonder of discovery. The Guide to Australian Composers and 25 in 25 follow on from this – sharing the experience of curating the playlists, showcasing the breadth and wealth of music we have, and encouraging curiosity and exploration.”
