Recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey has been selected as the incoming curator for the Sydney Opera House’s Utzon Room 2025 season. She draws on her own extensive insider knowledge from decades of international touring as a soloist, creator and recording artist. Already an unabashed fan of the Utzon Room, Lacey described it as “the ideal listening space of an artist” where light, water and music are closely intertwined”.

The Canberra-based National Opera has announced the appointment of Sonia Anfiloff as its new Artistic Director, succeeding founding AD Peter Coleman-Wright. Returning from almost a decade of performing in Vienna, Anfiloff has deep roots in the ACT music scene as a graduate of the Canberra School of Music and as Head of Choirs at Canberra Girls Grammar School.
