Natalie Aroyan and Diego Torre will reunite as Verdi lovers when Ernani has its first Sydney Opera House outing
In February, Natalie Aroyan and Diego Torre will both make role debuts in Verdi’s Ernani: Torre in the title role and Aroyan as Elvira, the woman Ernani loves and eventually dies for.
First performed in 1844, Verdi’s fifth opera is rarely staged today, but Opera Australia is about to present a La Scala co-production, which premiered in Milan in 2018, directed by Sven-Eric Bechtolf. The OA season will mark the first time that the opera has ever been staged at the Sydney Opera House.
