The city of Bathurst and its surrounds are poised to ring and rumble with the many shades of piano music once again with the return of Out West Piano Fest.

Now in its second year, the weekend festival of music, wine and food will take over the heritage Blackdown Farm, a short drive from the centre of Bathurst, from Friday 27 – Sunday 30 October.

A stellar quartet group of pianists has been assembled for the Festival in Andrey Gugnin, Tamara-Anna Cislowka, Yanghee Kim and Clemens Leske.

Gugnin has curated five concerts across the weekend, beginning with a Welcome to Country, a sunset dinner and a concert titled Music from the New World, a program featuring infectious Latin rhythms from South America, jazz-inspired sounds from the US and works from selected Australian composers.

Day two of the festival consists of two concerts. The first, evocatively titled Eastern Express includes music by Dvořák, Enescu and Babajanian, among others. The second concert, History of Love, ranges across the work of Wagner, Grieg, Prokofiev and Rachmaninov. The two events are separated by a sumptuous meal.
