Beginning as a joint venture in 2014 between leading ballet companies around the world – including our very own The Australian Ballet – World Ballet Day has grown into a much-loved global celebration of dance. Falling on 12 November, this year’s theme is Access Becomes Arts, highlighting inclusivity and innovation in the art form.

Participating companies including the National Ballet of Canada, the Royal Ballet and the Ballet Opéra de Paris will stream content on their individual platforms.  The Australian Ballet will present an all-abilities workshop and a behind-the-scenes glimpse of a morning class through its website, while The Royal Ballet unveils a brand-new collaboration between four choreographers that employs the use of Immersive Descriptive Audio.

With all livestream information available through the official website, Limelight has put together a list of all of the live ballet events happening in November and December. Expect Christmas classics, enchanting fairy tales, and lots and lots of Tchaikovsky.
