After touring across Australia twice as part of Trio Dali, French cellist Christian-Pierre La Marca can’t wait to return.

“I’m very excited to come back to Australia. Being back in a different way, it’s very exciting for me. It will be more personal; it feels really special. I hope it will be,” he tells Limelight.

La Marca is a guest artist at this year’s Australian Festival of Chamber Music, where he’s set to take part in a whole host of evening concerts, conversations and performances between 26 July and 3 August. The mainstay of his appearance is a program of his own devising: Wonderful World, a multimedia concert centring on the beauty of the world arounds us and the need to protect it.

La Marca’s own drive to contribute to environmental conversations and a chance encounter were the impetus for the work.
