Antony Partos takes home a double, while Alan John, Caitlin Yeo and Neil Sutherland are among the composers honoured.
Paying tribute to composers across 12 categories, the winners of the 2106 Screen Music Awards were announced last night at City Recital Hall in Sydney. Jointly staged by APRA AMCOS and the AGSC (Australian Guild of Screen Composers), the winners included a mix of established names and emerging talent.

Antony Partos and Matteo Zingales took out the prestigious Feature Film Score of the Year Award for their atmospheric electronic score for 99 Homes, an American film about the housing crisis. Partos made it a double, also winning the Award for Best Soundtrack Album for his work on the critically acclaimed documentary Sherpa, taking his Screen Music Awards total haul to 11 since 2004.
Alan John, who wrote the music for Sydney Opera House – The Opera (The Eighth Wonder) and who has also worked closely with theatre directors such as Neil Armfield and Jim Sharman, won Best Music for a Mini-Series or Telemovie for his work on ABC mini-series The Beautiful Lie – his fourth...
