The winners of PAC Australia’s 2024 IMPACT Awards have been announced, celebrating excellence in leadership and creativity in the Australian performing arts scene.
The Awards’ highest honour, the Wendy Blacklock Industry Legend Award, was presented to Tasmanian theatre producer and director Annette Downs.

Originally trained as a dancer, Downs served as the Artistic Director of Terrapin Puppet Theatre between 1992–1999. She was also a Senior Producer for Performing Lines Tasmania for 17 years, stepping down in 2023. In 2023, Downs also received the inaugural Award for Theatre at the Creative Australia Awards.
PAC Australia highlighted Downs’ “support for artists to thrive in a regional context” and the “strong resonance and impact” of her legacy across her career.
The Performing Arts Centre of the Year Award was given to Geelong Arts Centre for its “deep commitment to the arts, community engagement, accessibility and artistic excellence”.
