Queensland Symphony Orchestra has announced the winner of the 2024 Young Instrumentalist Prize, following a performance at the QSO Studio on Saturday night.
Year 11 violinist Eric Kim has won first place in the competition, and will receive an opportunity to play alongside the QSO in its 2025 season.

Flautist Gabin Won placed second, followed by cellist Patrick Phillips, marimba player Daniel Hsieh, clarinettist Lisa Walsham and violinist Ellie Kyoung.
Jasmine Eo was the recipient of the Brennan Keats OAM Violin Loan Prize, offering a year-long loan of an AE Smith 1961 violin to an outstanding young violinist.
The prize is open to secondary school student in Queensland who play an orchestral instrument. Finalists for the competition are awarded cash prizes and mentoring opportunities.
