The Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers House Trust has today announced the two recipients of the Prelude residencies.

Composer, singer-songwriter and actress Gina Williams has been awarded the residency at Perth’s Gallop House, while vocalist Ziggy Ramo will stay in the Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers House in Paddington, Sydney.

Both will receive 12 months of sole occupancy of the houses, as well as $15,000, to be put towards living expenses.

The residencies are made possible by the bequest of Australian composer Peggy Glanville-Hicks, whose own terrace house has been the site of the Sydney residency since 1994. In 2016, the Trust also acquired Gallop House, through a partnership with the National Trust of Western Australia.

Singer, artist and writer Ziggy Ramo has released three studio albums, and has most recently co-composed the score for Black Snow with Jed Palmer, in which he also made his screen debut. Ramo also has collaborated with Tim Minchin on the musical short Play it Safe, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Sydney Opera House.
