APRA AMCOS and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers have announced the nominees for the 2025 Screen Music Awards.

Celebrating the achievements of Australian composers across television, film, video games and more, the awards ceremony will be hosted at Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley Music Hall on 28 October.

With three nominations each, this year’s frontrunners are Antony Partos, Jed Kurzel and the team of Adam Gock, Cassie To, Dinesh Wicks and Mitch Stewart.

Partos’s first nomination is for scoring Jennifer Peedom’s Deeper in the Best Music for a Documentary category. Also in the running is Helena Czajka for Yurlu | Country, Simon Bruckard for The Golden Spurtle and the team behind A Portrait of a Postman, which includes Wicks, Gock, Stewart, To, Emma Greenhill, Samuel Marks and Henry Bird.

Jed Kurzel has been nominated for Feature Film of the Year for Tornado alongside Elliot Wheeler (Spit), Samuel Dixon (How to Make Gravy) and James Brown (Birthright).

Jackson Milas has received two nominations in the category of Best Music for a Television Comedy for Bump with composer Josie Mann and Return to Paradise with Antony Partos. The other nominees...
