Singer-songwriter Megan Washington and composer-performer Josten Myburgh have been awarded the 2026 Prelude residencies, the Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers House Trust has announced.

Washington will spend next year living and working at the historic Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers House in Sydney’s Paddington, while Myburgh will take up residence at Gallop House in Perth, overlooking the Swan River. Each artist receives 12 months’ exclusive use of the property along with a $15,000 living stipend.

“I am so excited and grateful to be the recipient of this year’s residency,” Washington said. “I hope to honour Peggy’s incredible musicality in my compositions written at the house – and her legendary party spirit by having as many salons and soirées as possible.”

Myburgh described his residency as “a gift of slowness and clarity,” offering “an opportunity to transform curiosities into commitments and make some big shifts in my musical approach.”
