Under the NSW State Budget for 2024–25, announced on Tuesday, the arts and night-time economy are set to receive a $1.66 billion investment.
The funding is part of the “Minns Labor Government’s commitment to revamp the night-time economy and creative industries, building better communities that improve the lives of people in NSW”, said a statement released by the NSW Government.
“During a cost-of-living crisis where many people are doing it tough, this investment will help to develop vibrant communities as we build more affordable homes across the State.”

Sound NSW will receive $18.5 million for the delivery of programs that drive international and domestic engagement and support both the live music industry and NSW artists.
Earlier this month, Sound NSW released the State of the Scene report, investigating the live music industry and how to support it in the years to come. It found that the industry employs almost 15,000 workers directly and reaps $5.5 billion annually.
