The Australian Chamber Orchestra has announced the string players selected for its 2025 Emerging Artists program, now entering its 20th year.

Harry Egerton, Louise Turnbull, Fiona Qiu, Isabella Bignasca, Jack Overall and Oakley Paul will work closely with ACO musicians and perform as members of the ACO Collective, the orchestra’s touring ensemble.

Toowoomba-born violinist Harry Egerton is a student at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM). He has performed with the Tasmanian and Queensland symphony orchestras, and in 2022, he was awarded the St. Silas Prize for Most Outstanding First Year Recital at ANAM.

Violinist Louise Turnbull has performed with Australasian, Preston and Frankston orchestras, as well as as a soloist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for its Ears Wide Open series. In 2023, she, too, was awarded the St. Silas Prize.

Fiona Qiu is a current student at Austria’s Mozarteum after graduating from ANAM. She has been concertmaster for both the Australian Youth Orchestra and the ANAM Orchestra, and her playing has been broadcast...
