SeasonPreview: Your guide to the arts in 2025

The Australian Haydn Ensemble has announced its 2025 season: a five-concert series featuring the finest music from 18th-century Europe, the return of Erin Helyard and David Greco to AHE stages, and performances in new venues in Sydney and Canberra.

AHE also continues its exploration of historical chamber arrangements of Beethoven symphonies and, of course, music by the ensemble’s namesake, Joseph Haydn.

Adding to the excitement is a new residency for the AHE at the State Library of NSW as part of a project to bring to life some of the extraordinary objects and stories from the Library’s collection, creating a new performance work to mark the Library’s bicentenary in 2026, and the introduction of 18th Century Unpacked, a new pre-concert event series, offering audiences five curated events with wine, nibbles, and a deep dive into the music and historical context of AHE performances guided by guest experts.
