SeasonPreview: Your guide to the arts in 2025

The award-winning New South Wales theatre company Sport for Jove has unveiled an ambitious 2025 season lineup of classic and contemporary works.

The Summer Outdoor Season kicks off with a fresh take on Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Samantha Young and promising a unique “Australian twist” on Shakespeare’s classic comedy. The company’s long-running outdoor series will also introduce a new venue partner: The Hub at Blue Mountains Theatre in Springwood, adding to established outdoor venues Bella Vista Farm and Leura Everglades, which have hosted many of the company’s standout moments over the years.

In March and April, Sport for Jove presents its flagship 2025 event: The Player Kings. This ambitious project weaves together Shakespeare’s history plays – Richard II, Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, Henry V, Henry VI and Richard III – into a panoramic view of political turmoil and intrigue in the medieval English monarchy.
