The nominations for the 2023 Golden Globes have been announced, with a small host of Australians acknowledged for their work in film. Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, and Baz Luhrmann are amongst the nominees, with the ceremony to be broadcast on 10 January on NBC.

Blanchett has received a nomination for Best Actress in a Drama for her performance as fictional maestro Lydia Tár in the film TÁR. Todd Field, who wrote, directed and produced TÁR, is nominated for Best Screenplay. The film is also up for the Best Film, Drama, next to Avatar: The Way of Water, Top Gun: Maverick, The Fabelmans and Baz Lurhmann’s Elvis. An interview with Blanchett about TÁR will feature in our upcoming January/February issue. 

Lurhmann’s biopic Elvis picked up two other nominations – for Luhrmann himself as Best Director and Austin Butler, who plays Elvis, as Best Actor.
