Create NSW has announced the recipients of its Annual Funding for Organisations designed to support innovation, vibrancy and creativity within the NSW arts and cultural sector. Fifty-one grants were approved from 133 applications received.
Among the music organisations to receive funding are The Song Company ($168,000), Omega Ensemble ($185,000), Australian Haydn Ensemble ($180,000), Sydney Improvised Music Association ($100,000), the Tamworth-based Academy of Country Music ($78,000) and the Illawarra/Shoalhaven’s Steel City Strings chamber orchestra ($120,000).

Theatre organisations benefitting include Sydney’s New Ghosts Theatre Company (currently managing the Old Fitzroy Theatre; $100,000), Burundi Theatre for Performing Arts ($175,000), FLING Physical Theatre ($200,000), PACT Centre for Emerging Artists ($200,000), Stalker Theatre ($160,000) and Sport for Jove ($115,000).
Youth Arts also featured with grants directed to Tantrum Youth Arts ($180,000) and The House that Dan Built ($145,000).
