Creative Australia has announced the latest recipients of grants through its Playing Australia and Contemporary Music Touring Program. More than $2 million has been awarded to 31 projects, with a focus on regional and remote communities.
Under the Playing Australia grant, Arts On Tour has earned $220,091 to present a national tour of Danza del Arte’s production Water Mirror in 2026. Developed by choreographer Paulina Quinteros, the work fuses Taiko performance with live acrobatics and dance.

BlakDance has been granted $768,809 to tour Garabari, a work made in collaboration with Joel Bray Dance. A community-focused dance work, Limelight reviewer Lee Christofis called it an “enlivening experience that celebrates our earth, our First Peoples and everyone else in the freest way imaginable” in a 2022 four-star review.
With a fund of $460,939, Dancenorth will tour Lighting the Dark, a work developed by Adelaide dancer and choreographer Chris Dyke, who lives with Down Syndrome.
Performing Lines will also tour Adam Kelly’s theatre work ARCO (both the junior and senior productions) about living with autism, with $105,494 in funding.
