Western Australia’s Cook Government has appointed a new Creative Industries Taskforce to help accelerate growth, investment and opportunities across Western Australia’s creative economy.
The advisory body will play a central role in delivering Creative WA, the State Government’s 10-year vision for culture, creativity and economic development, and will support industry pathways under the Diversify WA economic diversification strategy.
Bringing together senior figures from across screen, music, design, performance, digital innovation, First Nations arts and creative entrepreneurship, the taskforce will provide strategic advice and industry insight to government.

Its work will focus on identifying and accelerating high-growth creative sectors, strengthening commercialisation and innovation, supporting access to domestic and international markets, and improving collaboration between industry, education, government and the community.
The taskforce will also oversee the development of a dedicated action plan to guide the growth of Western Australia’s creative industries and strengthen their contribution to the State’s broader economic agenda.
Creative Industries Minister Simone McGurk said a strong creative sector delivered cultural, social and economic benefits.
