Season Preview: Your guide to the arts in 2026

Tasmania’s winter will once again ring with song during the annual Festival of Voices 3–12 July, 2026. The event will see Hobart and regional centres across the state host celebrations of communal singing, choral performances and vocal showcases from some of the best singers in Australia.

Now in its third decade, the festival has grown into Australia’s largest singing celebration, drawing tens of thousands of participants and audiences each year with a mix of concerts, participatory workshops and spontaneous singalongs. Since its beginnings in 2005, the event has been built on the idea that singing can connect communities and warm Tasmania’s winter nights. 

The 2026 program again balances large-scale communal events with professional performances, touring opportunities and hands-on experiences for singers of all levels.
