SeasonPreview: Your guide to the arts in 2025

Queensland Theatre has unveiled a season of eight mainstage productions – including two world premieres – in what the company describe as a “theatrical love letter” to its audience.

“Queensland sits at the epicentre of our 2025 Season, from the stories we tell, to the artists on the stage, to the creative forces working behind the scenes, and critically, to the people in our audiences who trust us to inspire, excite, and delight them,” said Queensland Theatre CEO Criena Gehrke.

The season opens in February with a reimagined production of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, co-directed by Bridget Boyle and Associate Artistic Director Daniel Evans.

This fresh take on literature’s original romantic comedy will be staged first at Toowoomba’s Empire Theatre, followed by a run at Brisbane’s QPAC Playhouse. Audiences can expect a Bridgerton-esque retelling of Austen’s witty classic, with an all-Queensland cast led by Maddison Burridge and Andrew Hearle.
