Melbourne’s Malthouse Theatre has announced its 2026 season, a performance program ranging from new Australian works and contemporary adaptations to comedy, dance and cabaret.
The year opens with Black Light (13 February–7 March), a new Malthouse commission written and directed by Jada Alberts (Brothers Wreck). Starring sisters Lisa Maza and Rachael Maza, the play offers an intimate look at Blak motherhood and the tensions of fear, resilience and love.
From 1–23 May, Megan Wilding writes and stars in Game. Set. Match., a story that shifts from romantic comedy to revenge drama under the direction of Jessica Arthur, Malthouse’s New Work Associate.

Arthur also directs Michelle Lim Davidson’s Koreaboo (24 September–10 October), presented in association with Griffin Theatre Company after its sold-out Sydney season. The play follows a young woman’s journey of identity and belonging in Seoul.
