Harpist and Australian Music Centre (AMC) Chair Marshall McGuire will deliver the 2025 Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address in Sydney on 13 October, coinciding with AMC’s 50th anniversary celebrations and the presentation of the Paul Lowin Orchestral and Song Cycle Prizes.

It will be the first time since 2022 that the annual address and the Paul Lowin Prizes have been staged together.

The Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address, founded in 1999 in honour of the Australian composer, is regarded as a key forum for ideas shaping the nation’s art music landscape. Each year it invites an artist or advocate to raise questions and challenge perspectives on the creation and performance of new music.

“Marshall McGuire’s lifelong dedication to Australian art music as a performer, advocate and Chair of AMC’s Board embodies the spirit of the Peggy Glanville-Hicks Address,” said AMC CEO Catherine Haridy.

“In celebrating AMC’s 50th anniversary, we’re honoured to have Marshall deliver this year’s address, and to share his vision for the future of art music in Australia.”
