The Orchestre Métropolitain of Montreal has donated a violin to Mark Landry after his instrument was stolen from him.

In a heart-warming example of human kindness, Canada’s Orchestre Métropolitain of Montreal replaced a violin stolen from a homeless man, known for his performances in and around Montreal train stations.

Mark Landry is known for serenading Montreal commuters with his violin playing, morning and night, so the news that his violin had been stolen on a bitterly cold night had quite the impact on those people who see him every day. Losing his instrument, and his connection to music left him lost – he told people passing him that he would “go through to a lower level of poverty” should he have to live without his violin.
