Music Australia has announced the 98 Australian artists set to receive funding under the inaugural Export Development Fund.
As predicted by Creative Australia earlier this week, $1.45 million been pledged in a matched funding initiative to support musicians across three different categories – Performance and Touring Activity ($5,000–$25,000), Professional and Artistic Development ($3,000–$15,000), and Market and Audience Research ($2,000–$10,000).

While most funding has been allocated to contemporary musicians, a small number of artists working across contemporary classical and art music have also been selected.
Supported under the Professional and Artistic Development category, composer Andrée Greenwell will travel to France to participate in the Aix-en-Provence Festival, as one of 15 women selected for its Women Opera Makers workshop.
Selected under the same category, cellist Freya Schack-Arnott will undertake the Kaaysá Art Residency in Brazil.
Composer, sound artist and trumpeter Peter Knight has also been named amongst the recipients in the Professional and Artistic Development category, as have composers Adrian Leung, Corrina Bonshek, Henry (Han Yi) Liang and experimental jazz trio Milton Man Gogh.
