The US-based multi-national Live Nation has announced it will build a new 3000-capacity venue for the city of Perth.
The doors of the new Northbridge Music Hall are expected to open in the summer of 2026-27, filling a notable gap in the city’s music ecology.
The site, a former warehouse at 77 Francis Street, will contain two performance spaces – a 3000-capacity main hall and a 600-capacity club-style room – and will be able to accommodate all forms of live music as well as theatre and stand-up comedy.
The redevelopment is expected to cost at least $20m. The venue has been designed by Brisbane architects Arkhefield.

It is envisaged that the new space will make it economically viable for touring bands and acts to add a Perth leg to Australian tour. Perth has venues in the 1000 to 2000-capacity range, but few options beyond that other than multi-thousand-seat sports stadia.
