In the early hours of March 24, 2019, under the jewelled dangling light bulbs of the The Bowler Bar in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, a young woman was enjoying herself at a gig with two music producers who had invited her to that evening’s show. She had just met these men a week ago, and they had been thinking about collaborating on an upcoming project.

What transpired during that night is currently still being investigated by Brisbane Police, but the woman, Deena Lynch, who performs under the name Jaguar Jonze, went on Twitter in July 2020 alleging she was sexually assaulted by the two men that night.

In May 2021, the 30-year old singer went on prime-time television, claiming the men had grabbed her, put their hands underneath her clothing, and tried to kiss her without her consent.
