Creative Australia has announced $1.75 million in funding to take live performance to audiences in regional and remote communities, supporting nine touring projects through its Playing Australia program.

The investment will deliver theatre, dance and music to 64 locations nationwide, ranging from small towns to remote centres, with tours scheduled into 2026.

Executive Director of Arts Investment Alice Nash said the program was designed to ensure access to high-quality performance for all Australians.

“From contemporary dance to theatre for young people, we are proud to enable these artists and organisations to reach new audiences,” she said.

The latest round of investment includes a national regional tour of Saplings by Hannah Belanszky, presented by Australian Theatre for Young People, and re:group performance collective’s POV and Auto-Tune produced by Intimate Spectacle.
