With the Opera Australia wardrobe bursting at the seams, and room needed to store new creations, Opera Australia has announced it will throw open the doors for a costume clearance sale on 14 & 15 April.

The sale will take place at The Opera Centre in Surry Hills and includes more than 2,000 pieces of carefully handcrafted costumes and props. Open to the public, this event is second-hand shopping at its finest, with some items priced as low as 50 cents.

Items from productions such as Boris Godunov, Carmen, Don Carlos, Iolanthe, Orpheus in the Underworld, and The Pearl Fishers will be available for purchase. Fantasy costumes, bedazzling ballgowns and items splattered with stage blood are among the offerings.

Customers can shop for their next costume-party outfit, Halloween costume or a one-of-a-kind dress for a cocktail event.
