Britain’s future king tried his hand at hip-hop on his official visit to Canada.

HRH the Prince of Wales has demonstrated his skill on the DJ decks during his official Diamond Jubilee tour of Canada.

The 63-year-old donned headphones and tried his hand at a set of turntables as part of an employment skills workshop for youth.

It seems a flair for hip-hop might run in the family: Prince Harry acquired a set of decks in Jamaica and is known to play reggae at parties.

His impromptu DJ set could rival Stephen Fry‘s from last year’s Cambridge University debate about the relevance of classical music to today’s youth.

Dressed in a conservative pinstripe suite and tie, Prince Charles initially appeard baffled by the DJ apparatus, but quickly warmed to the beat as he learned how to scratch and fade.

It was a far cry from the classical concert he attended during his four-day visit to the country with his wife Camilla.

Regina Symphony Orchestra, of which the Prince is a patron, performed classical music and Beatles hits for the royal couple at the national training centre of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or Mounties.
