The protest group Just Stop Oil has interrupted a Glyndebourne opera festival performance of Australian director Barrie Kosky’s production of Francis Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites by sounding air horns and letting off a glitter canon.
The opera restarted after a delay of about 20 minutes. The three protesters (who had purchased tickets for the performance) were led away by security staff and reported to police. No arrests have been made.

“We are very sorry to everyone whose visit to Glyndebourne was affected by the protest action today,” said a festival spokesperson. “Our highest priority was the safety and security of everyone on site and we would like to thank our staff and performers, whose calm and professional response kept everyone safe and disruption to a minimum.”
