SeasonPreview: Your guide to the arts in 2025

Queensland Ballet has revealed its 2025 season, a blend of cherished classics, premieres and family favourites. The season has been curated by Greg Horsman, who is acting Artistic Director while QB continues its search for a replacement for Leanne Benjamin, who parted ways with the company in August after just one year at the helm.

The season opens with Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo & Juliet, a return of the company’s record-breaking production from 2014. Playing from 21–29 March at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC, this romantic masterpiece transports audiences to the streets of Verona, where star-crossed lovers navigate a world of feuding families, passion, and tragedy.

Set to Prokofiev’s iconic score performed live by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the ballet features MacMillan’s intricate choreography, exquisite costumes, and striking sets.
