Southern Cross Soloists (SXS) has announced the artistic lineup for its long-running chamber music festival, which returns in 2025 with a new name and a relocation from New South Wales to Queensland.
Previously known as the Bangalow Chamber Music Festival, the SXS Chamber Music Festival takes place from 22–24 August, hosted at Mount Tamborine’s Shambala Estate in the Gold Coast hinterland. This year’s curator is Grammy-nominated Queensland flautist Tim Munro, who was appointed to the position of Festival Director earlier this year.

“Chamber music is all about intimacy and connection. It is where composers share private thoughts, and where performers bring their full selves. To be involved with the next iteration of SXS’s beloved Bangalow Festival is indeed an honour. And to do it in Mount Tamborine – a place so beautiful that I feel my worries drop away – is extra special,” said Munro.
