SydneyMusic has announced that it is “ceasing operations and will no longer be online” following Monday 15 June.
“We had hoped that we would make it through a difficult period, but it has become clear that we can not go any further,” reads a statement posted to its website, Sydneymusic.net, today (4 June).

“In the last 38 months we have researched and listed over 16,000 live music events. Every day we are told by our readers that they have been inspired to go and see more live music than they otherwise would have because of our resource.
SydneyMusic.net was founded in 2022 by Joe Hardy, Will McKinnon and Caitlin Welsh and run by volunteers as an “emphatically not-for-profit” venture. Most prominently, the website hosted the Sydney Gig Guide, a listing of performances and unlimited by genre.
