The Song Company has announced its 2025 Emerging Artists. Supported by the Ian Potter Foundation, this artist development program, now in its second year, offers professional experience to singers at the beginning of their careers, providing a bridge between academic training and a professional career in vocal performance.

Selected by audition, they are Madeline Gibbs (QLD), Josephine Brereton (NSW), Elsa Huber (ACT), Eliza Bennetts O’Connor (VIC), Stella Horvath (VIC), Lily Flynn (VIC), Samantha Anderson-Mayes (WA), Alex Ritter (VIC), Jack Jordan (VIC), Alex Gorbatov (VIC), Lachlan McDonald (VIC), Brendan McRae (NSW), Johnny De Simone (VIC), Paul McDonald (VIC) and Leyland Jones (VIC).

The Song Company’s Emerging Artist Program provides six emerging artists per program (18 positions in total throughout the year) with a multifaceted professional experience. Each artist is engaged as an understudy for a core member of The Song Company, providing invaluable insight into the professional world of ensemble singing.

Beyond performance opportunities, each Emerging Artist receives mentorship from a core Song Company singer, including singing lessons, coaching sessions and career advice.
The program also includes dedicated rehearsal days with the Program Director, as well as opportunities to rehearse alongside the core ensemble members.
