Monash University Performing Arts Centres (MPAC) has announced the line-up for its inaugural Vibrating Air chamber music series hosted in the intimate, 130-seat David Li Sound Gallery on the University’s Clayton campus.
“Taking the idea of ‘chamber music’ beyond its usual associations with Western classical music, we have invited three great artists to present programs that will unveil a wealth of instrumental virtuosity across a range of genres and cultures,” said Paul Grabowsky, MPAC’s Executive Director.
“The Sound Gallery is an extraordinary venue for performers and audiences alike, purpose built for unforgettable experiences such as these.”

The series commences 31 March with Magdalenna Krstevska, who returns for her only Melbourne performance to share hidden gems of the clarinet repertoire.
Krstevska has performed as a soloist, recitalist, chamber and orchestral musician in halls across the UK, Australia, Europe and China. She will be joined by pianist Leigh Harrold.
The second concert, 14 April, is a showcase for jazz pianist, beat-maker and composer Aaron Choulai, who studied at the Victorian College of the Arts, before moving to New York where he toured around America and Europe.
