Sydney’s newly-reopened White Bay Power Station has announced it will host a free, three-day festival of music, food and art across 20–22 September.
Featuring a range of local musicians and artists, the Power Up Festival will be the second major event hosted within the venue after the 24th Biennale of Sydney earlier this year, which saw the venue open its doors to the public for the first time in 100 years.

Beginning on Friday morning, the venue will showcase a variety of works by local visual artists as well as the finalists for the Greenway Art Prize, displayed in the Turbine Hall. The music featured on Friday includes Saxophone Special, where locals from Leichhardt and Marrickville perform arrangements of Steve Lacey works, and original pieces and BATTERIE, a solo act from composer-performer Jared Underwood featuring drums, synths and electronics. The Leichhardt Espresso Chorus, an award-winning community choir, also make an appearance across the festival weekend.
