Limelight want you to tell us your favourites – so make your vote heard!

Are you a Sculthorpe fan? Or does Percy Grainger float your boat? Perhaps Peggy Glanville Hicks is your girl, or maybe Arthur Benjamin gets you doing the Jamaican Rumba. Whichever way you lean, it’s time to make your voice heard.

Limelight is calling our readers to help as we pay homage to the nation’s greatest music-makers. From Brett Dean and George Dreyfus to Stephen Whittington and Nigel Westlake, entries are already flooding in as we aim to crown Australia’s Greatest Composers.

Young or old, obscure or popular, composing or decomposing; let us know who’s at the top of your list!

When the polls close, public submissions will be collated with the preferences of our handpicked expert panel. The results will then be featured in the September issue of Limelight magazine.

Need an extra incentive? Every entrant also goes in the draw to win a pack of three CDs featuring works by Australian composers Malcom Williamson, Elena Kats-Chernin, and Andrew Batt-Rawden.

So what’s the wait? Get voting!

Australia’s Greatest Composer: polls close at midnight on Sunday July 6. Cast your votes here.
