If you’re a fan of any kind, you will know what it’s like to get into a passionate discussion with someone else about the subject of your mutual affection. Whether it’s deep dives into Taylor Swift’s newest release or discussing the latest mishaps on the Formula One track, a connection between two true fans can surpass differences in race, class, political affiliations or religion.
Rajiv Joseph’s play King James (a Pulitzer Prize finalist) centres on one such unlikely friendship. The “James” in question is none other than basketball great (or GOAT? To be determined) LeBron James. This Australian premiere and debut production from Little Ripa, playing at the Old Fitz Theatre, is a passionate look at male friendships and the bonds they are built on.
