I have many questions on many things but the most consuming would be: Why am I drawn to places and countries that are old, traditional and simple? In my never ending quest for answers, I am enjoying the search and revelling in finding nothing more than more questions. As a solo guitarist I have performed in fifteen countries around the globe and whilst thoroughly enjoyed each one, sometimes it can be venue after venue (where am I?).

My tour manager Bill Fox, and I came up with the idea of creating a travel and culture program that focused on the ingredients of local music rather than the common “travelling chef” format. Titled “Rhythm Hunter”, the first episode was filmed in Morocco but it was the next episode, in South America, that inspired the first of my suites for guitar and orchestra which I recorded with The Metropolitan Orchestra this year.
I decided to go on a motorbike safari throughout South America. Of course I bought a little travel guitar, learnt to speak a little Spanish, had the necessary injections and “Adios Oz”.
