ZOKI Presents: Alexander Gavrylyuk & Richard Tognetti
11 October @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm AEDT

Violinist Richard Tognetti and pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk join forces for a recital spanning Szymanowski, Prokofiev and Brahms. Szymanowski’s Mythes evokes three Greek myths – Arethusa, Narcissus and Pan and the Dryads – while Prokofiev’s Second Violin Sonata, with its light-hearted neoclassical opening, takes a darker turn and evokes the fairytale world of Cinderella. Brahms’ Third and final Violin Sonata, almost orchestral in scope, completes the program with a sense of urgency and drama.
