Tone List: Audible Edge ’26 — A festival of exploratory music (Saturday Night)
2 May @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm AWST

Artist-led, international and delightfully unpredictable, this annual festival of exploratory music is housed in Fremantle’s Victoria Hall, creating a space for virtuosic and “anti-virtuosic” improvisation, forward-thinking club sets and participatory play. Seed-funded artists include composer Simon Charles and poet John Kinsella, experimental electronic music producers Lia T and R. Glacken, place-based sound artist amby downs and flautist Saskia Willinge, alongside trumpeter Uma Volkmer and saxophonist Naoko Uemoto.
Limelight Editor’s Choice
The first ever west-coast performance of amby downs, the decolonial ambient/noise project of
Tahlia Palmer, envelops the space with processed field recordings. Violin supergroup Umbel make mind-bending sonorities with three acoustic instruments and weird tunings. Boorloo-based Davaajargal Tsaschikher delivers a rare performance of his solo work informed by noise, psychedelic music & Mongolian folk. And finally trinket-core icon Jonnine (of HTRK) performs skeletal songs in the key of “damaged sensual minimalism”, supported by Maria Moles on drums. There’ll be a mystery set or antics afterwards, keep an eye out.
