East meets West A festival in 100 minutes
Acclaimed musicians and artists from China and Australia come together for one afternoon only for this unique festival experience celebrating cultural exchange and collaboration.
Lu Jing is a guzheng virtuoso celebrated for blending traditional Chinese musical heritage with refined, expressive cross- cultural performance. She has performed on renowned international stages, and is recognized for the emotive, vibrant sound she brings to this ancient instrument.
Celebrated guzheng works, such as Fisherman’s Song at Dusk, Jasmine Fragrance and Butterfly Lovers, will be performed by Lu Jing, accompanied by an Australian string quintet and piano.
The afternoon also features renowned Australian Conductor Luke Spicer and showcases performances by international visiting choirs, alongside local Australian choir ensembles and soloists.
An acclaimed violist and chamber musician, Luke Spicer is now established as one of Australia’s foremost conductors.
