Victoria Chorale: Coming Home
29 August @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm AEST

Following Victoria Chorale’s successful European Tour, please join us for our second 2026 concert that explores the theme of ‘Coming Home’ with a uniquely eclectic program.
The concert will include heartfelt Australian anthems and an indigenous-inspired work; a romantic, jazzy cabaret piece; and classical European masterworks contrasted with a fun, folk-inspired Austrian march to create an entertaining cultural experience.
We’ll be collaborating with the Ballarat Wind Orchestra with whom we share our Musical Director and Conductor, Mario Dobernig, and will be joined by Sally-Anne Russell, renowned Mezzo Soprano. It will be a delight to perform with the region’s premiere wind ensemble!
We’re proud to be featuring the Australian premiere of The Two Trees, a new composition by our rehearsal accompanist and award-winning concert pianist, William Schmidt. Commissioned by Victoria Chorale, Will has created a wonderful choral work drawing on William Butler Yeats’ famous poem that explores different ways of perceiving the world and our place in it.
