RISING Festival: Defend the Throne
7 June @ 6:00 pm - 7:40 pm AEST

Bieber, Gaga, Doja, JLo, RiRi, Janet, Ciara, Ariana. If an icon needs a video or performance to pop, there’s a good chance they’ll hit up The Royal Family Dance Crew. Now The Aotearoa/New Zealand champions are bringing the heat to RISING in a new showcase called Defend the Throne where they’ll blast through legendary sets from the past 14 years and debut their newest moves.
Founded in 2011 by Parris Goebel, the Auckland-based crew won the World Hip Hop Championships three times in a row with a style that became known as Polyswagg. Raw and instinctive, it’s hatched from the passion of Aotearoa’s Polynesian youth. Parris’s choreography is less about counting it in and more about feeling through music as a family.
Tapping a song’s intensity and riding the spark.
