Port Fairy Spring Music Festival: Digital Echoes
11 October @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm AEDT

Viola and percussion traverse cyberspace
Pioneering visionaries Aaron Wyatt and Speak Percussion unveil an immersion in transformed sounds, messages and meanings, displaced by time and space.
Melodic viola fragments are transmitted to five locations around Australia, then beamed back to the concert where they resonate percussion instruments, blending into the live soundscape. The viola echoes, bouncing around the country, in and out of the live performance, its journeys creating unpredictable timings, mapping the unseeable landscapes of our information highways. Digital Echoes is about translation, what is lost and gained through coding and decoding, contemplating the evolution of internet and interstellar communication, and combining remarkable technology, contemporary classical music and percussive art to create an enthralling and otherworldly score.
