The Metropolitan Orchestra: Fiesta

26 September @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm AEST

Passion. Movement. Splendour. Rhythm.
The Metropolitan Orchestra’s final Met Concert for 2026 is a dazzling season finale built to captivate. Under the direction of Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams, this performance celebrates irresistible dance rhythms and late-Romantic splendour inside the stunning Verbrugghen Hall.

The program opens with the sultry sway of Arturo Márquez’s Danzón No.2, a piece bursting with Mexican energy and syncopated brilliance. Next, the orchestra moves into the glittering waltzes, playful nocturnes, and energetic gallops of Aram Khachaturian’s Masquerade Suite, bringing theatrical drama and timeless grace to the stage. To close the evening, Sergei Rachmaninoff’s magnificent Symphonic Dances takes the audience on an epic journey from haunting nostalgia to exultant triumph. It’s a bold, cinematic masterpiece that offers a fitting finale to TMO’s incredible 18th year.

Whether you are a seasoned concertgoer or new to orchestral music, this 90-minute performance offers an engaging experience of live storytelling through sound.
