Small Space Music and Elissa Goodrich Quartet: Gene Tree – Album Launch
2 June @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm AEST

Inspired by climate science and DNA modelling, these compositions take stories from our genetic maps of adaption, resilience, extinction; the genetic story of the peppered moth and the migratory monarch butterfly; and, musical interpretations of DNA and its patterns, replications, faults, transcriptions into mRNA.
The initial research, development and early phase of composition was supported by an APRAAMCOS composer’s grant.
The music is also the spine and the springboard for the multi-award winning allied project: Gene Tree: Listen. Now. Again – a performance installation piece Elissa conceived of in partnership with St Martins YAC which has had two award-winning public seasons.
